Plus it's good River Karma

From Healing Springs Animal Hospital:  "Can you give them a lift? Generally speaking, turtle populations are declining because of road kill, habitat destruction, pollution, and pet and food trade. Thousands of female turtles are killed every year crossing roads. The survival of turtle populations depends on the historically low mortality rate of adult turtles. However, turtles have not adapted to the loss of adult females through road kills, so this has a strong effect on turtle populations.
A quick act of kindness can mean the turtle you see lives to lay eggs another year."
